Often, rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury focuses on functional abilities such as walking, talking, cognition and activities of daily living; once discharged, one may feel very socially isolated or bored due to a lack of realistic leisure or social opportunities. These feelings can lead to serious secondary conditions, such as depression.
